Man from North West receives £20,000 in damages following three years of extensive dental negligence.
A 19 year old North West man, Mr R, suffered poor levels of care and substandard treatment by his local dentist over a three year period. The Dental Law Partnership discovered extreme levels of neglect by Dr A, which resulted in a compensation amount of £20,000 for Mr R.
Between 2011 and 2014 when Mr R attended regular check-ups with Dr A there never seemed to be any serious issues raised about his teeth. Mr R was inclined to believe Dr A when he told him his teeth were fine, like you would with any dentist that you trust, however he never imagined that he would find out that he was suffering from undiagnosed and untreated decay in a number of his teeth.
It wasn’t until Mr R visited another dentist that he was told his teeth were in an extremely poor condition and an extensive amount of restorative treatment would be required to improve the state of his mouth. The examination exposed there had been multiple failures to provide a high standard of care by Dr A, including the failure to diagnose and treat decay in a number of teeth, and the failure to remove decay prior to root canal treatment.
In order to fix the damage that had been caused by Dr A’s carelessness, Mr R will need future dental work that will include root canal treatments, crowns and implants and may have the future loss of a number of teeth. After Mr R was made aware that he had not been treated correctly, he consulted the Dental Law Partnership with his case.
We immediately set out to ensure that Mr R received the compensation he deserved following his shocking three years of suffering – our highly skilled team of professional solicitors secured £20,000 in damages for Mr R which will help towards costly restorative treatment and rebuilding his confidence.
