South East woman receives £25,000 for failing implants and bone loss.
Miss U got in touch with the Dental Law Partnership after her traumatic experience with her local dentist. She regularly kept a close eye on her oral health and attended regular, routine check-ups over the years with her trusted dentist, Dr L, but still found herself to be the victim of alleged dental negligence.
Miss U began to experience unexplained recurring pain in four of her teeth, so decided she should seek further advice from Dr L. After attending an appointment where a bridge was recemented at two of her teeth Miss U decided to undergo implant treatment on the other two teeth.
She said: “I wanted to do whatever it took to make to pain go away so I decided to have implants. However the treatments I had kept failing.”
The reason for the failed treatment was that Miss U was suffering from acute bone loss which Dr L unfortunately didn’t mention. Dr L should have said no to the implants and advised her on what the best course of treatment for her would have been.
Miss U went on to say: “I had a feeling something wasn’t quite right with the standard of Dr L’s work as I was still experiencing excruciating amounts of pain in the teeth that were supposed to have been fixed.”
At the Dental Law Partnership, we employ specialist dentists to assist in settling cases of malpractice. After a review of Miss U’s records by a member of our team, it was brought to light that Miss U will require a bone graft due to the treatment.
The Dental Law Partnership took on Miss U’s case and fought for the compensation she deserved. We were able to recover £25,000 for our client who is faced with further procedures to repair the shocking damage to her mouth. She stated, “I never thought I would get the result I did but with DLP’s help, I can finally begin to put this ordeal behind me.”
