Case of gross dental negligence sees South West woman awarded £25,000 in compensation
Mrs T of the South West of England thought she was getting the smile of her dreams when her dentist, Dr M, fitted four implant-retained crowns to improve the aesthetics of her teeth. However, the process became a nightmare due to Dr M’s negligence.
The dentist missed out essential steps of the procedure, failing to ensure the standard of the bridge design. He also did not remedy the significant deficiencies in the fit of the crowns themselves. As a result of these factors, Mrs T developed gum disease and peri-implantitis and this, in turn, lead to bone loss. The four implants will all need replacing after the patient has undergone bone and soft tissue grafts.
This distressing level of damage – due to nothing more than a dentist’s negligent attitude – has caused Mrs T a lot of pain and suffering, as well as having financial implications. She engaged the Dental Law Partnership in order to claim for compensation to cover her costs and set her on the road to recovery. Our expert dental negligence solicitors fought her case and won £25,000 in compensation on her behalf.
