As most people would, Mrs U trusted her dentist implicitly and saw Dr R for treatment over the course of eight years, beginning in 2005. During that time however, Mrs U was let down repeatedly by Dr R, resulting in the loss of three teeth and the need for further treatment.
When Mrs U went to her dentist suffering with problems with her teeth, he advised root canal treatment on two occasions. Unfortunately, these treatments were badly done, causing Mrs U’s pain and suffering to be prolonged. In addition to this, Dr R also fitted three crowns for his patient, all of which were poorly fitted, leading to her developing gingivitis.
When Mrs U sought another opinion, her dentist was shocked to discover the extent of the damage and prescribed a course of treatment including redoing the root canal treatments and extracting three teeth. Mrs U was also advised that she would require bridge work in the future as a result of Dr R’s actions.
This is where The Dental Law Partnership stepped in to make a compensation claim against her former dentist. Mrs U was awarded £18,000 in compensation which will help to pay for the treatment she deserves, while recognising the trauma she has undergone due to the negligence of Dr R.
