East Midlands woman wins £10,000 in compensation after being the victim of dental negligence
Ms N of the East Midlands found herself a victim of dental negligence while under the treatment of Drs B and V. The dentists failed Ms N on several counts, with serious consequences for the patient’s oral health.
Initially, they failed to consider Ms N’s high risk of developing tooth decay due to impacted wisdom teeth. Then, when this tooth decay did, in fact, occur in two teeth, Dr B and Dr V failed to diagnose or treat it. The implications of this were that Ms N lost one tooth and required an extremely deep filling in the other. In the future she will also need a root canal treatment and a crown. It was also necessary for Ms N to undergo orthodontic treatment in order to correct the tilt of her wisdom tooth and move it into the space left by the lost tooth. This means that not only was Ms N’s oral health affected by her dentists’ negligence, but she was also left footing the bill for expensive restoration treatment – with more to come in the future.
Ms N approached the Dental Law Partnership with regards to making a claim for dental negligence compensation. Our team of specialist solicitors took on her case and won £10,000 compensation to make up for the pain and suffering caused, as well as the financial loss.
