When we visit the dentist for a check-up we expect to be given the right advice when it comes to our oral health. Unfortunately, this was not the case for Ms O who was exposed to pain and discomfort as a result of her longstanding dentist, Dr N.
Ms O first attended her dentist in 2007, unaware that this would be the start of an ongoing problem years down the line. Being conscious of her teeth, she made sure she visited regularly in order to keep on top of any issues and when an implant was required Ms O agreed for the procedure to be carried out.
Dr N fitted Ms O with an implant, which soon started causing her problems. Mr O began to feel pain in the area and requested to see another dentist to take a look at Dr N’s work. It was discovered that the implant had become infected and a hole was found in the gum. The implant had to be removed and Ms O is likely to require a further implant in the future.
Ms O decided to approach the Dental Law Partnership with her case and our team of expert solicitors started working on getting the compensation she deserved. Had Dr N provided a satisfactory implant supported crown, then Ms O would have avoided an infection and loss of bone support. Ms O currently has a temporary denture and intends to undergo a second implant treatment in the future to restore the space. The Dental Law Partnership secured £14,450 for Ms O who can now begin to put this ordeal behind her.
