Ms T from the South West started to feel sensitivity in her tooth so booked an appointment to see her dentist Dr C where she was provided with antibiotics.
After she had finished the course of antibiotics the pain hadn’t stopped so Ms T went back to see Dr C for an emergency appointment. She was again given another course of antibiotics and also told that she would need root canal treatment. Wanting to be rid of the pain Ms T agreed to the procedure.
Following the procedure Ms T felt there was no improvement to the pain she was suffering with. It was at this point when she decided to visit another dentist and get a second opinion. It was there that she was informed that she had been given unsatisfactory root canal treatment and the crown she had been fitted with was of a poor fit. She was told that she would require repeat root canal treatment or extraction of the tooth.
Ms T said, “It’s frustrating to think I went back to see Dr C multiple times and I was just given antibiotics rather than being given any other treatment options. Now I’m facing the future loss of the tooth!”
