Miss L had been experiencing frequent pain in an individual tooth for some time when she went to see Dr W with the problem. Although she thought the issue could have been solved promptly by Dr W, she was told it was not a straightforward matter and the recurring discomfort was caused by a tooth which had been decaying for some time.
It was recommended by Dr W that a crown could be put in place in order to save the tooth. Miss L agreed to the painful procedure which she thought would then be the end of the problem. Unfortunately, this was not the case, and for a number of weeks, Miss L’s agony continued.

After visiting another professional, the poor standard of Dr W’s work was then revealed. Miss L’s tooth was so severely decayed, a crown placement should have never been an option. In order to repair her smile and due to the lack of attention by Dr W, Miss L had to then go through further agonising treatment, involving complete removal of the tooth. Miss L now requires an implant.
