Mrs A from the North West has been awarded £10,000 in compensation after three dentists left her in severe pain and discomfort, and needing corrective treatment.
As a regular attending patient, Mrs A expected to receive the best level of care and service from her dentists, however this wasn’t the case. Mrs A attended regular check-ups with all three dentists since 1998.
The dentists failed to treat and diagnose decay on numerous occasions. If the decay had been spotted and treated promptly, then Mrs A would have avoided the need for remedial root canal treatment.
They also failed to use reasonable care and skill while performing root canal procedures on two teeth, leaving Mrs A in continued discomfort with repeated bouts of infection.
Had the root canal treatment been carried out to a suitable standard then Mrs A would have avoided the need for specialist repeat root canal treatment to fix the problem.
It was only after Mrs A visited another dentist that the problems with her teeth came to light. As a result of her dentists’ failures, Mrs A has had to suffer repeated infections and undergo specialist remedial treatment. Due to their neglect, Mrs A will need multiple root canal treatment and crowns in order to restore her smile.
When Mrs A approached the Dental Law Partnership about her situation, our specialist team of solicitors were dedicated to ensuring she received the compensation she deserved. Mrs A was awarded £10,000 which will hopefully help towards any future restorative treatments.
