    Mr B - North West

    Condition:

    Mr B, who had been a regular attendee at Dr M's practice since 2002, first found out that he was suffering from gum disease after a visit to another dentist.

    After an examination with another dentist revealed that at the age of 25 her URC and ULC (upper baby canines) were still in place and should have been taken out many years earlier.

    In January 2009 Mrs H attended the practice for an examination and was seen by a different dentist who took an x ray and noticed that there was a cloudy area around the sinus. Mrs H was immediately referred to a specialist who confirmed that a "pin" was protruding into her sinus causing a constant drip on the left side of her nose and a very unpleasant smell characteristic of a recurrent sinus infection.

Mrs L was horrified to learn that the three crowns which Dr S had previously provided were of an unsatisfactory standard and would need to be replaced, and that the root fillings previously provided at the two lower front teeth were unsatisfactory.

    Condition:

    Mr I attended the dental hospital in October 2006 complaining of a burning sensation to the lower left lip and tingling pain. It was confirmed that Mr I had suffered permanent nerve damage as a result of Dr E piercing the tooth root with the endodontic instrument thus allowing bleach to come in to contact with a nearby nerve.

    When Mrs Y visited a new dentist in 2011 it was discovered that there was decay under a number of fillings which were of a poor standard. She was suffering from chronic infection and would have to undergo extensive remedial treatment to correct the problems.
