Mrs C, from the East Midlands was awarded £91,500 in compensation after her dentist failed to diagnose and treat her periodontal disease resulting in the need for 21 tooth extractions and replacement implants.
Her hospital dentist failed to extract one of Mrs Merkell’s wisdom teeth with due skill and care, leaving her with permanent nerve damage and suffering in agony for weeks after the extraction. She still suffers a burning sensation in her tongue, as well as facial pain and numbness in her mouth years after the procedure.
Mr Cooper lost four teeth when he was only 10-years-old after his dentist failed to spot and treat decay. He also suffered excruciating pain in the lead up to his teeth being extracted, and had to have braces to help rectify the damage.
