David Corless-Smith is a qualified dentist and solicitor. David practised dentistry for 10 years before turning his attention to law and specialising in clinical negligence claims against doctors and dentists.
In 2000 David joined with Greg Waldron in founding the Dental Law Partnership, the first law firm in the country to act exclusively for patients in claims against dentists, and now the leading claimant firm in this area of legal expertise.
David has written extensively on dento-legal matters and was the founding President of the UK Dental Law and Ethics Forum.
David is particularly proud that the Dental Law Partnership has pioneered the use of conditional fee agreements, which have allowed patients to bring meritorious claims that they would not otherwise have been able to pursue without serious financial risk.

Helen became a director of the Dental Law Partnership in 2009 having joined the practice in 2003 as an Assistant Solicitor. Prior to joining the firm Helen gained a wealth of experience in clinical negligence in both the United Kingdom and abroad. Working with leading health litigation specialists Helen was involved in a number of complex and high value cases before focussing her career on Dental Negligence.
Helen is now head of pre-action cases at the Dental Law Partnership and gets a great sense of satisfaction in being able to guide clients through the claims process to a successful outcome. Helen is also Dental Law Partnership’s complaints director and DPO.
Heather became a Director of the Dental Law Partnership in 2020 having joined the firm in 2002. She has specialised in Dental Negligence throughout her career and dealt with the most complex Dental Negligence cases. Heather is the joint head of Litigation.
Heather is a recommended lawyer in the 2017 Legal 500.
Greg Waldron
Non-executive Director
Greg has been a qualified dentist for over 20 years, and a qualified solicitor since 1997. Having worked in the medical negligence field with both doctors, dentists and patients; Greg co-founded the Dental Law Partnership in 2000.
The Dental Law Partnership specialises in Dental Negligence cases and Greg takes pride in the fact that he is considered a pioneer in this Legal Specialism. His expertise in the field resulted in him becoming a founder member of the International Dental Ethics and Law Society as well as the UK Dental Law and Ethics forum.
Greg is now a non-executive director of the Dental Law Partnership.
Tim joined the Dental Law Partnership in 2005 and is now an Associate Solicitor. With a particular interest in cases involving nerve damage during dental treatment he has successfully helped numerous clients receive compensation for their treatment.
Jenny joined DLP in 2005. As an Associate Solicitor in dental negligence litigation Jenny handled a wide variety of dental negligence cases. Jenny has since progressed to the role of Disclosure Team Supervisor.
Georgie is an Associate Solicitor at the Dental Law Partnership, and holds the role of supervisor to the legal team.
Stephanie is a Senior Solicitor at the Dental Law Partnership, she joined in May 2019. Stephanie brings a wealth of experience to the team. Before coming to DLP she was a general clinical negligence solicitor for 3 years with 8 years of personal injury litigation experience.
Paula holds a position as Senior Solicitor at DLP, she joined in May 2019 and works on a variety of dental negligence cases.
Laura joined The Dental Law Partnership as a Senior Solicitor in January 2020. She works on a variety of dental negligence cases. Laura brings with her experience in both clinical negligence and personal injury.
Justine holds a position as Senior Solicitor at DLP, she joined in May 2020 and works on a variety of dental negligence cases.
Amanda holds a position as Senior Solicitor at DLP, she joined in August 2020 and works on a variety of dental negligence cases.
I originally joined the Dental Law Partnership in 2016 as a paralegal, before commencing my 2-year Legal Practice Course (LPC) at Staffordshire University in 2018. Working with the Dental Law Partnership enabled me to learn on a part-time, blended basis whilst studying.
In March 2021, I qualified as a solicitor and I continue to work at the Dental Law Partnership.
I first joined the Dental Law Partnership as a paralegal in 2015 as part of the Disclosure team. Since then, I’ve received a training contract through DLP and qualified as a solicitor in 2020. As I have worked for the team for several years, I have gained a lot of knowledge about the legal industry, which makes me well placed to help you with your dental negligence claim.
Tyla joined the New Client Team as a paralegal in 2015, and has since moved into the position of Chartered Legal Executive .
Amanda joined the New Client Team as a Paralegal in 2015, and has since moved into the position of Chartered Legal Executive.
Rebecca joined Dental Law in 2013 as an Office Junior. She has since progressed to the role of Trainee Legal Executive.
Olivia joined the Dental Law Partnership in 2017 as Junior Legal Secretary. She has since progressed to the role of Trainee Legal Executive.
James joined DLP in 2022 as a Paralegal. James’ role involves guiding clients through the first stages of their dental negligence claim and obtaining relevant dental records.
Marla joined the Dental Law Partnership in 2021 as an Office Administrator. Marla has since progressed to the role of Paralegal. Marla’s role involves guiding clients through the first stages of their dental negligence claim and obtaining relevant dental records.
Rob is Head of Costs, and has worked in the Legal sector for 16 years.
Gemma joined DLP in October 2018, she brings a wealth of experience to the team and has over 10 years’ experience working in costs. She is responsible for recovering the costs incurred during the client’s case and advises clients of all aspects of the process to ensure costs are recovered quickly and smoothly.
Alison joined Dental Law in 2014 as an Office Junior. Alison has since progressed to the Costs Department providing administrative support whilst carrying out training to become a Costs Lawyer. Her role includes creating the documents used when recovering the incurred cost from the Defendant and advising clients throughout the process.
