A Highly Skilled Dental Team

At the Dental Law Partnership, we’re extremely proud of our professional team, encouraging them to pursue learning and training avenues whilst employed with us. Most of our staff have legal degrees, although there are also other members of the team who have risen through the ranks, starting out as paralegals and administration assistants before being promoted to other roles.

Every solicitor that works for the Dental Law Partnership is fully qualified to be a lawyer. Many members of our team have also achieved further qualifications, as training and development are very important to us. By training our people well, we can ensure their skills across all areas of the dental law industry. As well as the necessary legal qualifications, our team also has a broad range of other abilities, including interpersonal skills and communication skills.

For example, one member of our experienced team, Rebecca McVety has worked with the Dental Law Partnership for ten years. In her time with us, Rebecca has worked her way up from an Office Junior in the Post Room to her current position as a trainee Legal Executive. Rebecca briefly became an administrative assistant for the Costs Department, before moving to a legal role as a Paralegal in 2018. In 2020, Rebecca became a trainee legal executive.

She is now in the process of studying law through CILEX Law School, adding practical experience to help her in her role as a Legal Executive. Whilst all our staff are highly trained and qualified to the minimum entry requirements of their position, there are many different paths within the legal world. We like to train members of staff so that they can reach their highest potential.

We believe that everybody has unique skills, which we work hard to uncover, aiming to help each member of the team reach their full potential within our business. Every solicitor we employ is also regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). Information about our expert solicitors can also be found on The Law Society’s website, if you’d like to find out more about an individual.

Many of our employees have arrived at the Dental Law Partnership after working elsewhere within the legal industry, putting their expansive knowledge and communication skills to good use with us. Jennifer Paine is one of our Senior Solicitors, joining our firm back in 2020. However, she has actually been working within the legal industry since 1999, gaining experience across the field.

Jennifer has completed the LPC (Legal Practice Course) and undertaken the Professional Skills Course. Jennifer has also amassed a great deal of practical experience from her work in the personal injury litigation area of practice, suiting her current role well.

The calibre of our dedicated team is something we are very proud of, going way beyond the minimum requirements needed to become a legal professional.

Our Directorial Team: Experienced Dental Experts

We believe that the Dental Law Partnership is unique in many ways. We’re a legal firm made up of experienced dentists and lawyers, as many members of our team have worked within both industries. We feel this gives us a greater understanding of the dental negligence world, enabling us to file successful claims against negligent dental practitioners.

Nowhere is this more apparent than with our managing directors – David Corless-Smith and Christopher Dean. Both David and Christopher were dental practitioners before starting the Dental Law Partnership, and they are qualified as both dentists and solicitors. This gives them a wide understanding of the dental law industry, able to understand all aspects of the field.

David has also written extensively on dento-legal matters and is a founding member and President of the UK Dental Law and Ethics Forum. Chris was the founding Chairman of the UK Dental Law and Ethics Forum and has written many articles in the field of dental law and ethics. He also co-wrote the Dental Surgery chapter in the definitive practitioner work, ‘Clinical Negligence (Fifth Edition)’

Both Chris and David are recommended lawyers in the Legal 500, showing how far their remit stretches across the dental law industry.
