Our client, a personal trainer and nutritionist, had a long-standing dental bridge replaced as part of her routine restorative care. Unfortunately, the treatment was poorly executed: the new bridge was incorrectly sized across five teeth when only three were required, causing her bite to change so significantly that she began biting her own lip while eating.
Despite attending regular appointments and raising concerns about red, sore, and bleeding gums, her dentist repeatedly reassured her that everything was fine. It was only when she developed a painful abscess that the dentist finally diagnosed her with severe gum disease, leaving her at risk of losing multiple teeth.
A specialist review later confirmed that the dentist had failed to monitor her gum health or provide appropriate restorative work, leading to years of unnecessary pain and the need for expensive remedial treatment.
