An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our well-established Accounts team as a Legal Cashier.
The role will involve joining our established accounts team. Full training will be provided.
As a legal cashier your day-to-day duties will include:
- Record and keep up to date ledger transactions pertaining to office side.
- Prepare schedule of BACS payments with relevant authorisations and upload the same to Bankline.
- Input and payment of disbursements.
- Reconcile all bank statements relating to office and client accounts weekly and at the end of each month.
- Reconcile credit card statements at the end of each month.
- Reconcile and maintain petty cash on monthly basis.
- Liaise with Accounts Manager in respect of monthly management accounts and end of year accounts.
- Provide assistance in relation to processing monies received into client account, ensuring the SRA accounts rules are followed.
- Any other duties as may be directed.
Personal Specification
- Previous experience working as a legal cashier or in an accounting environment preferred.
- Ability to maintain good communications, with an ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to work as a team member and work independently.
- Computer literate and knowledge of software applications and online banking.
- Enthusiastic and willing to learn new skills.
- Organised and methodical.
- A minimum of level 4/C grade in English and Maths at GCSE.
We offer:
- Starting salary of £25,000 to £30,000 depending on experience.
- 35 hour working week.
- 31 days holiday a year including bank holidays and Christmas closure, with the option to buy an additional 5 days holiday per year. We also provide a long service award meaning your holiday entitlement including bank holidays and Christmas closure would increase incrementally each year to 36 days after 5 full years service, and to 41 days a year after 10 full years.
