We’re constantly advised – quite correctly – to have regular check-ups with a dentist as part of a good oral hygiene routine. The idea behind this is that your dentist can advise you on best practice when looking after your teeth and gums, as well as spot any issues or problems at the earliest opportunity – ideally resolving them before they become serious and require drastic, costly treatment.

But what happens if your dentist is not upholding their part of the bargain and fails to notice issues over multiple appointments? Mr R regularly attended check up appointments with his dentist, Dr M, confident that he was doing everything possible to ensure the health of his teeth. However, on visiting a new dentist he was advised that three of his teeth were so badly decayed that they were beyond help and could not be saved. This meant that over a number of years and many appointments, Dr M had displayed extreme negligence by failing to diagnose or treat Mr R’s tooth decay, resulting in the loss of three teeth and the subsequent restoration work.

At this point, Mr R approached The Dental Law Partnership with his dental negligence case and our team of expert solicitors agreed that he had suffered because of Dr M and had a dental malpractice claim, ultimately winning £15,000 in compensation for him. This will cover the costs of restoration work, as well as compensating Mr R for wasted appointments with Dr M, and making up for the trauma and embarrassment of lost teeth.

If you have suffered at the hands of a negligent dentist, The Dental Law Partnership can help you fight for the compensation you deserve. To begin your claim for dental negligence compensation, call our specialist solicitors today on 0800 0853 823.
