Restorative Dentistry Claims

A lot of restorative dental claims can be attributed to a dentist not diagnosing or treating tooth decay in the first place, or providing the incorrect treatment to fix the problem. If you have suffered from this kind of dental negligence, you may be eligible to make a claim.

Some common claims that the Dental Law Partnership has dealt with include:

  • Ill-fitting crowns, or incorrect crown treatment
  • Unnecessary extraction
  • Failure to treat decay
  • Badly executed fillings with decay left in the tooth
  • Poor treatment planning.

Types of Restorative Dentistry

Restorative dental treatments aim to restore your teeth, should they be decayed or damaged. Some examples of restorative dentistry include:

Crowns

Crowns, also known as caps, are a restorative measure to seal a tooth or dental implant. Crowns are often used after root canal procedures, for large cavities or for broken or damaged teeth.

Bridges

A dental bridge is used to hold a false tooth or multiple teeth in place using the surrounding real teeth. There are different types of bridge that your dentist may recommend, depending on the position of the gap(s) and the health of the teeth around it.

Root Canals

Also known as endodontics, root canal treatment is designed to eradicate infection in a tooth by clearing out the infected area and removing bacteria from the root canal system. The root canal is then filled and usually a filling or crown used to seal the tooth.

Fillings

Fillings are one of the most common types of dental treatment and the procedure involves repairing cavities caused by tooth decay. If a filling isn’t performed to an adequate standard, it can cause further dental problems for the patient.
